Questions
A -- since we have a link to the FAQ on the bottom
of every page, shouldn't it pop up in a new window like the others do?
A -- What about a list of questions in the top half
of the page, linking to answers further down? Then it is more than once
screen, but the pertinent information is available immediately.
A -- should style guide be separate from
FAQ/overview?
"web-editing basics" - a
link on every page going to documentation
including:
- web editing idea (very briefly)
* no scripts permitted
- this happens by default
- nothing uploaded through WebDAV, as far as I can tell, is executable
- so anything you upload
is going to be text/html
- note this is a beta
- note can either add comments or edit with
mozilla/composer
- style/content/refactoring guide
-P-- how do you upload images?
- where to find mozilla
*
http://www.mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/
- hints on using mozilla
- how to edit (call up composer on) a viewed
(browsed) file (use "Edit Page", cmd-E)
- how to save after changes
- P -first_time_user settings for
publishing to the 'rlai' website
- use "publish", or cmd-shift-S
- always publish, close composer
window, and refresh browser window
- even when you will call up composer
again to continue editing
- what to do if you forget to close, refresh, and
reopen
(publishing will fail)
- save to local file (cmd-S), then
close, refresh browser window and
reopen for editing
- merge in content from the local file
(also viewed in mozilla)
- publishing settings
- what to do when your edit is not accepted (try
"Publishing doesn't work?")
- what to do when your edit is not accepted because
of an intervening edit
- much as in "forget to close, refresh,
and reopen" above
- how to include images
- how to upload other files
- hints on using composer
- note "paste without formatting"
- this page (basics) should be short (<1 screen),
using links to much of the above
- could be in the form of a FAQ?
